Peter started his artist career at the Moseley School of Art in Birmingham, moving on to Birmingham College of Arts and Crafts to study Fine Arts and Graphic Design. After 30 years of running his own advertising agency, he is now able to devote more time to his painting.
Peter has developed his own unique style over the years, whilst at the same time continuing to hone his technique on the more traditional styles.
Peter has visited the Cornish coast for many years, in particular the Roseland Penninsular near St. Anthonys Head. His subjects include secluded beaches, harbours and St. Anthonys lighthouse.
He ususally produces water colours on the spot and then translates them to large oils when returning to his studio.
Sunny days, misty mornings and rainy afternoons all produce equally stunning results.
Some of his most colourful landscapes are inspired by trips to Tuscany and Umbria. Radiant sunsets and dramatic skies are particularly striking.
