Mary has been entranced by colour, texture, fabric and thread since the first peek into her Grandmother’s button box. She has been weaving her very own magic with textiles ever since!
After studying at Mid Warwickshire College Mary’s work took flight, she is inspired not only by the afore-mentioned love-affair with textiles but a passion for travel as well. The rich variety of landscape and architecture, on land and beneath the ocean are a source of wonderment for Mary, perpetuating her unique creativity and the gift of translating these experiences directly into her multi-textured and colour-drenched artworks. The desire to create shape, mystery and form through colour and texture continues into her incredible garden; a work of Art in itself.
Mary works from her studios in Warwickshire and Tuscany throughout the year, with vistas onto two beautiful scenes. The accessible Italian cities such as Venice Florence and Rome and excursions around the world to places such as India, Morocco, New Zealand and The Red Sea continue to feed her lust for creating visually-stunning images. These can be seen in Mary’s pictures under framed glass or the exquisite journals and cards she has produced with love and integrity.
Mary’s artworks have sold here in the UK at Mitchell Gallery, Compton Verney, Gallery 121 and in Italy; they grace homes throughout the world.
